Reel Justice : Bethlehem and Tacloban

The Reel Justice Film Series branched out in December to Hamilton’s historic Cotton Factory for a screening of Open Bethlehem. It was a wonderful venue to invite the community to learn about the struggles faced by the residents of Bethlehem as the walls build up around them. It was especially poignant with Christmas coming.

On February 22nd, the Reel Justice film series lands in Burlington for the screening of After the Storm. This screening will take place at St. Raphael’s Parish Hall 4072 New St., Burlington,ON

This film documents the efforts of Caritas Canadan and its partners, Urban Poor Associates (UPA), NASSA-Caritas Philippines, the Archdiocese of Palo and the Congregation of the Holy Redeemer and the the transformational journey of 550 families as they come together to build the Pope Francis Village.

This 47-minute documentary was filmed over three years and shows what happens when you bring the people together, when they are given a voice and a chance to be heard, and when they know how to take action.

This evening will begin with a pot-luck dinner followed by the screening and discussion.
